Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to this web site and any other web sites run by Gabel Law Firm, P.C. It explains the types of information that the firm may obtain when you use the site, and what we do with that information.

This policy only applies to information collected through this web site, or via email or phone from vendors, business contacts, or potential clients. If you become a client of the firm, our obligations with respect to information we get from you will be governed by professional ethics rules and laws, not by this policy.

By using this web site, you agree to the terms of this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect only information that users voluntarily give us when they contact us through the web site by (1) filling out contact forms, (2) signing up for our email mailing lists or to receive our free publications, or (3) calling or emailing our offices. For example, we collect email addresses from users who sign up for newsletters, and ask potential clients to provide us with contact and other information so that we can get back to them to discuss our services. (These examples aren’t an exhaustive list of all information we may collect.)

The attorney-client privilege does NOT necessarily apply to information that you send us unsolicited through this web site. Please think carefully before using the web site or unencrypted email to send us information that you consider to be private or sensitive, because we cannot guarantee that it will be 100% secure.

The firm has not designed this web site for children, and we do not intend for anyone under 13 years old to use the site. We do not knowingly collect or maintain any information about anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, you should not subscribe to any newsletters or give the firm any contact or other information that could be used to identify you.

How We Use Your Information

We use information that you may provide to contact you, to answer questions you may ask us, to send you newsletters, publications, or other information you have requested, and to conduct conflict of interest checks. To the extent that our analytics tools gather information (see “Cookies, Analytics, and “Do Not Track” Signals,” below), we use that information to manage and improve the web site and to understand our users’ needs so that we can improve our marketing.

Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade information that we gather through this web site to anyone. Employees, independent contractors, and vendors of the firm may, with the firm’s specific permission only, have limited access to information we collect under certain circumstances, for the purposes of correcting technical errors and improving web site functionality.

If the firm receives a subpoena or court order that requires us to disclose information gathered through this web site, we reserve the right to comply with those subpoenas or orders when we believe that the law requires us to do so.

Cookies, Analytics, and Do Not Track Signals

Our web site does not use cookies. We do use simple analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, which tells us how people are finding our web site. Those tools don’t collect information that could personally identify users of our web site.

“Do not track” is a privacy preference that you can set in your Internet search browser that sends a signal to a web site that you do not want the web site to track certain browsing information. This web site is not set up to detect Do not track signals, however, and so it is unable to respond to them.

Security of Your Information

We take a proactive approach to protecting information we receive from web site users by taking reasonable steps to protect the security of that information once we receive it. But we cannot absolutely guarantee its security, because sending information over the Internet, and storing it electronically, can never be 100% secure. If you do send us information through this site, you understand and accept these security limitations.

Future Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Whenever you use this web site, the then-current version of the policy, as posted on the site, applies. The bottom of this page shows the last time this policy was changed, under “Last Updated.”
